Let’s face it, nobody loves to hear that they look tired. However, sometimes you need to hear it to be able to fix the problem.
After all, a true friend is one that will let you know if you’re not looking your best. Yet, if you don’t necessarily feel tired then it can be a shock to hear you look like it. Sometimes we may be blown away when someone tells us we look fatigued because we’re feeling fine…
Don’t worry! Being told you’re tired-looking happens to the best of us. The good news is that you don’t have to accept your under-eye bags and sunken face. Once you figure out what the reason is, chances are you can probably fix it pretty quickly. Here are some of the most common culprits for looking tired, and what you can do to fix it.
Age
Sometimes the reason for looking tired is as simple as getting older. Age can start to give you a more tired appearance, but the good news is that this can easily be fixed, usually through taking extra supplements and engaging in a high-quality skin care routine.
Wash your face, use a moisturizer, and don’t forget to use a little under-eye cream. The eyes are the windows of the soul, so if you can manage to make yourself look just a little less tired around the eye area, then you’ll shave years off of your appearance.
Dehydration
Not drinking enough water can lead to actually being tired, as your body needs enough hydration to be able to perform. Yet, also, dehydration can make you look tired too. When your body lacks water, your blood circulation slows down and your complexion can appear dull and lifeless.
Try to sip on water throughout the day, and eat hydrating foods. For example, eating foods like cucumbers or watermelon can give you an extra boost of hydration without actually having to chug a glass. Remember, in addition to hydrating yourself on the inside, don’t forget to pack on a little extra moisturizer on the outside of your body too.
Poor Diet
Did you know that what you eat could be causing you to look and feel much more tired than you actually are? Processed foods and too much sugar and caffeine can cause declaration, which can in turn lead to uneven skin tone and pesky breakouts which ultimately make you look fatigued. Try to incorporate as many nutrient-rich foods in your diet as possible. Think leafy greens, healthy fats, and plenty of lean proteins. Cut back on sugar as much as you can, and limit the amount of sugar you eat. Although treating yourself with a little bit of sugar now and then is perfectly fine, going overboard is only going to do you more harm in the long run.
