Why did I consider getting Too Faced Matte Eyeshadow Palette?
I love Too Faced eyeshadows. That said, when a high end makeup brand decides to create an all matte eyeshadow palette, I immediately spring into caution mode. Usually, a lot of matte eyeshadows tend to be chalky and are not easy to blend, so I tend to stay away from them. However, since I like this brand so much I decided to give this palette a try. Trusting a brand with an all matte eyeshadow palette is not for the faint of heart, LOL!
Where can you get it?
What did I find in the package?
The package is a well made small cardboard box, held together with a magnetic lock. After you open it, the top part has a small hidden pocket with 3 cards which show you different ways to use this palette to create different eye looks (this is typical to other Too Faced palettes). Their names are Day, Fashion and Classic, and correspond to looks you might associate with these names.
The shades are arranged in groups of three, with 9 shadows total. Three of the shades are slightly larger at 0.07 oz (the lighter shades), while the other six come in 0.03 oz size. I feel one can travel with this palette given its small size; however, the package will not stand to abuse and might get bent. The package does not include a brush.
Time to try it. What did it do for me?
What a pleasant surprise it was to use these Too Faced matte eyeshadows! As I said before, matte eyeshadows tend to be chalky but this palette is… OOooohhhhh baby.. Awesomeness! The colors, texture and blend-ability of these eyeshadows is amazing!
They are very pigmented and the stronger colored ones really pack a punch. I usually apply these eyeshadows with a primer (either Too Faced Shadow Insurance or Urban Decay Primer Potion) and the shadows stay put all day until I clean my face with a makeup remover. I also get to no fallout at all with these shadows. I’m really impressed, can you tell?
Here’s a description of the colors:

London Fog – Navy Blue
Midnight – Dark Gray

What is my Verdict?
This little palette has beautiful matte eyeshadows with a good variety of colors. I would say the shades range from colorful to neutral. This gives you a great array of colors for different moods and seasons. The shades can also work well for different skin types. The eyeshadows didn’t feel powdery or chalky and this is huge for me. They have a soft texture that blends well without a lot of effort.
I would strongly recommend this palette to anyone looking for growing their matte shadow collection!
