Why did I consider getting this Tarte PureOptic Lipgloss Set?
I stumbled upon this tarte PureOptic Lipgloss set while shopping on QVC, after finding the Tarte Eye Candy Shadow Stick collection and the Tarte SmolderEyes Collection. Just like those other two, I thought it was a fantastic deal. I’ve never tried tarte lip glosses before, however I’ve been a fan of the Tarte LipSurgence for a long time! Since the thing I love the most about the tarte brand is the fact they use natural ingredients in their products, I decided to give this one a try. Nothing better than feeling you have something kinda healthy on your lips.
Where can you get it?
I got the Tarte PureOptic Lipgloss Set online at QVC.com
What did I find in the package?
You get 8 Tarte PureOptic Lipglosses, each with 0.04 oz / 1.32g. This is important to know since many people think these are full size. While they may be full size in length (5″ / 12.5cm) the product inside is only 0.04 oz.
Time to try it. What did it do for me?
These lip glosses are perfect to wear everyday, as they don’t feel sticky in my lips. They felt very sticky when I was doing the swatches but just because I swatched them in my wrist (where they are obviously not meant to go LOL). They don’t feel too thick or too thin. I think they have the perfect consistency for my taste. When compared with the Lancome Juicy Tubes, these feel a lot thiner and definitely not as sticky. They lasted about 2 hours on my lips (while eating / drinking too). My lips feel well moisturized and looked shiny with them.
They have a peppermint taste and I noticed the scent was very strong once initially applied. The taste and scent diminished within a few minutes. You work the tubes by twisting them to get the product out. Be careful with the initial twisting, however, because it takes a while to get it “primed” and if you twist too much you may end up with a mess. We don’t want that, do we?
Now, on to the the bad news. These Tarte PureOpctic Lipgloss didn’t provide me with any color at all. Even though you see the swatches with beautiful colors, once you blend them in your lips they become translucent. They might have a hint of “sparkleness” (yeah, I made that up) but that’s it. It’s so disappointing because when you look at them in the tubes they look like 8 different colors… but in reality they all looked relatively the same when I tried them on.
Let me give you an overview of the colors:
- Pink Blush
- Warm Pink
- Nude Pink

What is the Verdict?
The formula for these lip glosses didn’t stand out from any other brands I’ve tried before. They are just.. well.. lip glosses. The colors do go on very sheer as I mentioned before, but all in all I think it’s a good lip gloss. Now, if you consider getting 8 lip glosses for $4 bucks a pop, that is an awesome deal in my opinion. Yes, you don’t get the full 0.14 Oz. but you get 0.32 oz total lip gloss when you combine them all! Think about it, you pay $21 for a 0.14 oz one. With this package you can give one to your little sis (so she doesn’t steal them), your cousin, your mom, aunty Betty, and one to your BFF and you still have 3 for yourself! The best part is that you all get to try a bit of the tarte brand! Not too shabby for me!
