Why did I consider getting this Sigma Synthetic Precision Kit?
Sigma Brushes have been around for years, but I found about them just this year. Ever since, though, I’ve been in love. I haven’t met a Sigma brush I haven’t really liked. To me they are the perfect combination between affordability and good quality. They are not Hakuhodo, though, so if you have a lot of money to splurge on them, then by all means. That said, at a fraction of the price, I think these are a great match for a lot more people. When they announced this new Synthetic Precision Kit I was ecstatic! I already own the Synthetic Kabuki Kit but when I saw this smaller version of the Kabuki Kit I quickly realized they would probably work great for very detailed work in hard to reach areas.
Where can you get it?
I bought the Sigma Synthetic Precision Kit at SigmaBeauty.com
What did I find in the package?
You get a really pretty organza bag with the 4 brushes inside, as you can see below.
Each brush is individually wrapped. The handles are black wood (shiny!) and on each of them you’ll find a description of the brush and its product number (for example, P80). The handles measure 6.5″ from the ferrule to the end. All the ones I got measured 14″ total. They feel light but not cheap, like I said before, very good quality.
Time to try it. What did it do for me?
The bristles in these brushes are super soft. I have washed them many times and they don’t shed or bleed. They have kept the shape and softness very well. I am very careful with them, but nevertheless, they have performed as good as any others I’ve tried.
P80 – Precision Flat – Great to apply concealer to blemishes and imperfections. It’s also great to apply MAC Paint Pots to the eyelids.
P82 – Precision Round – My absolute favorite of the bunch!!! This brush is one of those that I can’t live without. The reason I love it so much is the fact that it’s the perfect size and shape to contour my cheekbones. I love contouring my cheeks. If you have a round face or if your cheekbones are not prominent, simulating them will give better definition to the face. I also like that it’s so small that it can let me apply any cream counturing product directly in the hollows of my cheeks. The bristles on this brush are soft to the touch but firm, great to distribute the product evently.
P84 – Precision Angled – This brush is great to highlight the brow bone and above the cheekbones. IT’s also good to countour the nose and the cheekbones as well. Great size and perfect to fit in hard to reach areas.
P86 – Precision Tapered – You need presision work, this is your best friend. It’s ideal for applying concealer under the eyes and in defined areas such as the sides of the nose, chin and around the mouth. This brush can also be used to apply concealer around the lips to prevent color bleeding.
What is the Verdict?
The shape and density of each brush was designed to compliment the different areas and shapes of the face. These brushes are a home run! I don’t see much use of them for applying eyeshadows per se, but they are great for detail work in the face. They are very precise. The quality is amazing. Can’t say enough good things about them.
To sweeten the deal and make me even happier they gave me a free gift!! and what an awesome gift it was… They added a Sigma E25 Blending Brush… I call it the universal blending brush because it is so versatile! Happy dance.
