Update: Makeup Tutorial using the Too Faced Glamour To Go Fairy Edition?
I did a YouTube makeup tutorial using this palette. I hope you enjoy it!
Why did I bother getting the Too Faced Glamour To Go Fairy Edition?
In January 2011 I got this cute little kit which was part of the Too Faced holiday collection. It was my first Too Faced product ever (yay!). I’ve heard about Too Faced before and had seen the beautiful products and packaging they had. However, I thought their products were a bit expensive but this little kit won my heart. After trying Too Faced products for a couple of months now I wonder why didn’t I buy them before. I’ll definitely be doing more reviews about other Too Faced products in the future.
Where can you get this?
I bought this palette at the Too Faced Website. However, this was a limited collection so you might only be able to buy this on eBay.
What did I find in the package?
The palette comes in a palm sized plastic case. I think it’s too thick to throw it in your pocket but it’s THE perfect size for a purse or clutch. The case has a cute sticker on the front with a fairy and butterflies and roses of different colors. Getting this on the gloomy months of Winter was a nice reminder that Spring was around the corner. It also has a good size mirror but no applicators.
The palette has two compartments. The top one contains 8 eyeshadows. The second compartment has a blush, a bronzer and a lipgloss.
Time to try it. What did it do for me?
Some of the eyeshadows are more pigmented than others. Some will come out a bit sheer. There are two of the eyeshadows that are matte (pink and brown), all others have some shimmer to them. My favorite colors are the brown, copper, shimmery pink and the shimmery green/grey. I can create many different looks with these little eyeshadows from light to dark, day to night. The colors are very versatile and blend very well. The blush is a pinkish color. It’s matte and has a very subtle sheen to it. The bronzer has gold flecks that you can easily see on the pan. When applied to the cheeks it goes a bit orange and with a very distinctive sheen. The gold bits are noticeable. The lipgloss is very sticky with a slight vanilla scent. Even though it looks pink on the pan when applied to the lips it goes on almost clear. The lipgloss was pretty much useless to me. I like my lipgloss to have a bit of color, not to mention the fact that every time I use the blush or the bronzer some of the dust goes in the lipgloss. So, the lipgloss has this dust on it all the time. Yuck…
What is the Verdict?
Talk about nailing the “to go” part. This is a cute little palette that has everything a girl could want for the perfect makeup application. It was limited edition for the 2010 Holidays. The only reason I’m reviwing it now is because I just didn’t
have make the time before to do it. This Too Faced kit is really nice as a gift for family or friends. It’s very portable as well making it ideal for travel or just taking it in your purse for touch ups. When inside the purse it resists well the beating from things like the phone, keys, wallet, you name it. The package is very sturdy. The eyeshadow colors are really pretty and you can do many different looks with it. The lipgloss is not worth anything for me, as I mentioned above.
