Why did I consider getting the NARS Douce France Eyeshadow Trio?
The latest NARS Spring 2012 Collection brings us Douce France, a new, limited-edition eyeshadow trio in complementary shades of pink. Have I told you how much I love pinks and purples?
Where can you get it?
What did I find in the package?
You get a black compact with a mirror on the lid but there’s no brush. Each eyeshadow has an amount of 0.05 oz. each, so you won’t run out of any of these easily. Unless you’re like me.
Time to try them. What did they do for me?
The NARS Douce France Eyeshadow Trio is a limited edition product from this Spring’s NARS collection, but I wouldn’t necessarily rush out to get it. The color pigmentation of this trio leaves a lot to be desired.
The first shade from left to right is a light pinkish color that turned out really chalky. I couldn’t get the color to show up in my skin tone and even worst, the shadow didn’t stick to my skin. Grrrrrrr…. It was very hard to work with without a primer… well, even with a primer, it was still hard to work with. It didn’t really give me great pigmentation nor could I get it to wear a long time.
The center shade is a light-medium pink. The finish is a mix between a matte and a satin. Color payoff is ok but in my opinion it needs a bit of an oomph to be great. It’s a bit powdery to the touch.
The shade to the right reminds me of a delicious dark raspberry. This is my favorite color of the trio. I would definitely get this one just on its own, and would almost say the trio is worth it just for this one, but definitely not for $45!. It has an awesome color payoff, is easy to work with and very blendable. For a matte finish, this eyeshadow totally rocks. It’s so soft and finelly milled.
Even though I didn’t go crazy for the first two individual colors, I think you could come up with a really cool look when using them altogether.

What is the Verdict?
This palette makes for a very soft, sexy, pinky eyeshadow look. It’s something different and perfect for the upcoming spring and summer time. I just wish the lighter color would’ve worked better for me. :-( I do like it, it’s just I wouldn’t say you have to get off your butt and run to the store to get it right now.
