Why did I consider getting the Guerlain Terracotta Sun Shimmer Highlighting Blush
I’ve never tried liquid blushes before and these two came out with the Guerlain Terracotta Spring/Summer collection. Since I was getting some other products of this collection, I decided to give these a try as well. I’m a sucker for trying new things, so what’s wrong with a little experiment, right?
Where can you get it?
I got the Guerlain Terracotta Sun Shimmer Highlighting Blush online at Nordstrom.com
What did I find in the package?
The blush comes in a little tube that contains .50 oz of product. The tube has a pump mechanism to dispense the blush. I find that one pump is enough to cover both cheeks but the color goes on very sheer.
Time to try it. What did it do for me?
This is a special kind’a of blush. I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s sort of a liquid blush mixed with a highlighter. In theory, it sounds amazing… but when applied to the cheeks I find there’s lack of pigmentation. They go in very sheer. I even tried to build it up by layering but still couldn’t get the intensity I wanted.
They do feel like you’re wearing no makeup at all. They also look very natural and have a certain glow to them. Unfortunately, Spicy Coral barely showed up on my cheeks. The color is a true peach with small tiny tiny gold flecks. Because of these flecks, besides being a blush it also works a highlighter. Sunny Pink is a beautiful warm pink, also with tiny gold flecks. It has a beautiful rose/gold irradiance that makes my cheeks glow. I applied this blush using my fingers but you could use a stippling brush to apply it as well.
They blend easily and as I said before, once it sets you can’t feel anything at all. They last about 4 hours at most in my cheeks before they start fading. Now, the box says they can be used in the eye as well but I have not tried that yet so I can’t speak to that. I’m curious, though, so let me know if you have tried that in the comments below. They do have the classic Guerlain scent, so if you are sensitive to strong scents and fragrances, be ready to deal with that with this products. I do find that the Guerlain powder products’ scent dissipates more quickly than this one, on this one the scent lingers.

What is my Verdict?
These are not my favorite blushes in the world. Guerlain makes really good blushes, but I don’t think these ones are for me. I feel they are too sheer looking for my taste but I see how people that just want a flush of color could actually love them. If you like the feeling of not wearing makeup and don’t mind the fragrance, you will love these.
