Why did I bother getting this?
This is yet another one of those products I found on Kevin James’ In My Kit website, which I wrote a little about in another review on Graftobian lipsticks (loved it!). If you haven’t heard of him before, check out my other post. A definite source of product info!
I also have a small ‘makeup brand crush’ right now with Graftobian, so I decided to try this one out. Let’s see how it goes.
Where did I get it?
I bought it from the Graftobian website.
For some reason I’m not aware of, to place an order on the Grafttobian website there was a minimum of $30. This palette cost $23.99…sooo, as I explained to my hubby, I was forced to go ahead and buy something else so they could fulfill my order.. sigh… what a sacrifice! :-). I ended up getting their moisturizer as well (and I’m so glad I did!! I’ll definitely be writing a different review for the moisturizer later…). I’ve also seen this palette offered on Nightmare Factory, Camera Ready Cosmetics , Paint and Powder Store, and Ebay so feel free to shop around.
I think the $23.99 price is fair and they will last you sooo long I consider them an awesome investment.
What did I find in the package?
The packaging is very similar to their lipstick one (I should say it’s exactly like their lipstick one). It’s slim, it’s light, it’s very convenient to carry around. Here’s what it looks like.
You get 5 colors in this palette, which are (from left to right above):
- Peach Blush – A soft pinkish tone
- Vienna Rose – I’ll call this one peachy/oreangy.. yes, I did
- Raspberry Wine – A medium pink tone
- Autumn Breeze – An earthy pink
- Cherry Glaze – A brownish color with a pinky finish
I’ll post an image here soon of the back part of the packaging, in which you can see the ingredients in these blushes.
Time to try it. What did it do for me?
The first thing I noticed about it is the creamy and smooth finish. It could be easily applied with a brush or even a sponge. They are silky soft and creamy they have no shimmer, sparkles or shimmer, so you get a true matte finish and a very natural look. Because the palette has a nice range of colors, you can easily mix and match to make new colors and this is perfect for different skin tones or if want to get some variations and try new looks. It is super blendable. I got luck with this palette too in that the very natural skin tone colors were perfect for me. Plus, the pigmentation is awesome, so a little gets you a long way. Just dabbing the brush or your finger will give you a super punch of color. Wham!
I like that I don’t need to top it off with a power blush because they stay on all day, so a definite plus if you’re out and about. This blush will last me all day!!!
No complaints here, I gotta say.
Here are some swatches for when I tried them on. Loved the shades!
What is the Verdict?
So, how did this one stack up? I loved it, plain and simple. I’m glad I found recommendations for good quality products, and for $23.99 I was not disappointed at all. I would definitely recommend this creme blush. It’s long lasting, feels really good on the skin, and the shades give you so many options. Even though you might not think the colors would work for you, you’ll be surprised of the results, I think.
Would love to read about your experience with this creme blush, so drop me a comment below!
