Dolce & Gabbana is a brand that stands for top quality, at least that’s what I think. However, I’d never tried any of their makeup products before. I was very intrigued and happy to see this collection come out, because of the different range of colors involved. Here’s my review, as well as a YouTube video I put together to showcase all 6 shades that came out as part of this Monica Bellucci collection. Enjoy!
Why did I consider getting the Dolce & Gabbana Monica Bellucci Lipstick Collection?
The first time I saw the promo pictures for these Dolce & Gabbana Monica Bellucci Lipsticks I fell in love with them inmmedialty. There was something about the colors that really caught my attention, so I decided to try them out.
Where can you get them?
I got the Dolce & Gabbana Monica Bellucci Lipstick Collection online at SaksFifthAvenue.com.
What did I find in the package?
Each lipstick comes in a golden colored case engraved with the Dolce & Gabbana logo as well as with Monica Bellucci’s signature. You get a total of 3.5 g or 0.12 oz of product with each lipstick. Each retails for $32.
Time to try it. What did it do for me?
There are 6 different colors in this Monica Bellucci collection and they are all gorgeous! 5 out of the 6 are super pigmented and opaque. The texture is so creamy and soft and they are super easy to apply on my lips. They don’t feel truly moisturizing, so after an hour of wear I will start feeling my lips drying a bit. I just apply a bit of balm and I’m good to go.
They are not matte and have a beautiful sheen finish to them. Something I really like is the wear time. I can wear these lipsticks for 4 hours before I start noticing any fading. To me, that’s a big deal since most lip products last 2 hoours on my lips. Added bonus: They make my lips feel fuller and bigger :-) Can’t complain!
The only thing I dislike about them is the scent and taste. I don’t really know how to describe the scent and the taste, but the closest would be a strong floral fragrance. :(
Here’s a description of all the colors, along with some close dupes I found:
Natural Monica: It’s a super wearable nude with pink undertones that doesn’t make me look washed out. I adore this color. It’s my favorite of the bunch, so I’m thinking about getting a backup :) NARS Bilbao is the closest color I have but it’s more neautral and less pink. MAC Gem of Roses is also close, but more pink and less neutral.
Magnetic Monica: It’s a deep plum color, super pigmented and opaque. MAC Dish It Up is the closest color I have. Even though the plum color is similar, the D&G one is much more opaque.
Chic Monica: It’s a bright fuschia color, extremely pigmented and opaque. MAC Deliciously Forbidden is a close dupe but less bright.
Italian Monica: It’s a bright, opaque and super pigmented fierce orange with red undertones. Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple has the same color hue but is not as opaque and pigmented as the D&G one.
Attractive Monica: It’s a classic Hollywood red. When I look at this color I think red carpet. It applies beautifully and I love it as a lip stain as well. MAC Red Racer is similar in color.
Only Monica: It’s a cool coral color. Of the collection, this is the only one that seems a bit sheer and not too pigmented. I like the sheer wash of coral color though, it’s very wearable.
My YouTube Video Review with Live Swatches!
I created this video review in which I swatched all 6 shades, so you can see what they all look like. Enjoy!

What is my Verdict?
This is an amazing lipstick collection! If I could ever have 6 lipsticks and nothing more these would be them. The colors are gorgeous, the texture smooth and the long wear is a very nice addition. I would recommend these to anyone. Let me know if you’ve tried them out yet!
