Why did I consider getting Benefit High Beam?
Hi beauties! To me, most of Benefit’s products are outstanding and I find that they work really well with my dry skin. I got this Benefit High Beam highlighter as part of a kit. If you ever want to try Benefit products, try to get them in a kit… I find that’s the very best way to try them out. The kits are usually a really good deal and if you don’t like them you don’t get stuck with a large product that you paid full price for.
Where can you get it?
I got the Benefit High Beam online at Sephora.com but you can also get it at Benefit Cosmetics.
What did I find in the package?
Some Benefit products come in what look like nail polish bottles, and their applicator is exactly like a nail polish applicator. The bottle for this High Beam contains 12.5 ml or 0.432 oz of product.

Time to try it. What did it do for me?
Highlighters are part of my everyday routine. Since I have very dry skin, I usually need the extra luminosity that highlighters bring. This Benefit High Beam highlighter is a pinky/milky color, and it contains tiny reflective particles that when applied to the skin provide a luminous glow. I apply this highlighter to the top of my cheekbones and blend it outwards for an instant face lift.
The consistency of this Benefit High Beam highlighter is interesting since it’s not liquid but it isn’t a cream either. It’s more of a liquid to gel formula that happens to be a bit thick. It’s very easy to use and it blends effortlessly.
One negative to it for me is that the applicator is not hygienic if you are using it on different people. You can easily contaminate the product because of the type of applicator. Even using it on myself, I usually apply it to the back of my clean hand and then apply it to my cheeks with my fingers. I like to use a small stippling brush for an airbrush kind’a finish, and it works great.
I also have a “secret” method for applying this Benefit High Beam Highlighter. My secret is mixing my concealer (I love the Bobby Brown Creamy Concealer) with a tiny bit of this highlighter, and it gives me a radiant look, similar to what you would get with the Yves Saint Laurent ‘Touche Éclat’ Radiant Touch, but for a fraction of the price! It requires a bit of work to mix the concealer with the High Beam but the results are amazing! It’s like a touch of magic under the eyes. Not only you conceal but you also brightens up the area. Win-Win!!

What is my Verdict?
This is not your glitter, messy highlighter that makes you look like a disco ball. This Benefit High Beam leaves my skin glowy and dewy. It’s a great addition to my makeup routine, giving me that fresh look without it being overly done.
Namaste!

I picked this up when they made a to-go version for $10 in the very dangerous impulse buy bins near the cash registers at Sephora! (I try not to look at them while I’m waiting in line haha). I do like that there aren’t chunky glitter particles in it but it does dry down rather quickly so I have to blend quickly. I also love the little sets Benefit makes, they should absolutely have made more of the Benefit 10 set (or make it permanent, it would definitely be a top seller), that sold out so quickly!
Those register bins are dangerous zones…LOL I agree with you though, Benefit should release more sets including smaller versions of their products for us to try before taking the plunge and buying full size.
Thanks for stopping by! xoxo
I like this product, I have a sample size I got from ebay, it really brightens up thr face. Another good product that does same but for eye area is from smashbox called photo op, I love that 1.
I’ve never tried smashbox photo op. I’ll have to give it a try at some point. Thanks for sharing! xoxo
