Why did I consider getting Benefit Girl Meets Pearl?
Having dry skin means I’m always on a quest to find the perfect illuminator for my face to look fresh, dewy, and highlighted. I’ve used the Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer for a long time now to get that kind of effect. However, when Benefit released this product I wanted to compare it with my beloved Giorgio Armani one. I must say I’m glad I decided to try Benefit Girl Meets Pearl…
Where can you get it?
I got the Benefit Girl Meets Pearl online at Sephora.com but you can also get it at Ulta.com
What did I find in the package?
The product comes in a twist/click plastic tube that dispenses a bit of product with each click. Very convenient and hygienic. It contains 12 ml or 0.4 oz of product, which should last you a decent time.

Time to try it. What did it do for me?
This product gives me such a gorgeous all over the face dewy glow!! I’ll go as far as to say the Benefit Girl Meets Pearl Illuminator is a godsent for my dull dry skin. It perks it up and makes it look alive. The texture of the product is gel-like. It spreads out easily and is very easy to blend.
The color is pink with a golden shimmer. However, when you blend it you cannot see any glitter or fake luminosity. I use Benefit Girl Meets Pearl anywhere I want to highlight and still look natural and fresh. I usually apply it mixed with my foundation (which is one of Eve Pearl’s Liquid Fountation, Graftobian’s HD Glamour Creme or the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk) to get an overall dewy finish in my whole face. I love this method! It also use it sometimes to highlight the top of my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose or my cupids bow.
If you are wondering what’s the difference between this Benefit Girl Meets Pearl Highlighter and Benefit’s High Beam, I can tell you that High Beam is a pinky/silver shimmer kind of highlighter, and it does look more frosty than Girl Meets Pearl. Girl Meets Pearl looks more natural in my skin tone (NC40) and that’s why I use it for an all over the face kind of glow.
The only thing I dislike about Girl Meets Pearl is the scent. It has a fruity/rose scent that smell strong for me and even worst than that, it lingers after initial application.. urgh… (of course, if you love smelly makeup, you probably won’t mind).

What is my Verdict?
For a natural all over illuminating color this Benefit Girl Meets Pearl is a perfect match. I love the dewy sheen that it provides to my face. I dislike the scent but sometimes I guess I can’t have it all, can I? ;)
Namaste!
