MAC Semi Precious Collection 2011
Drawn by the magical and dazzling colors of this collection I decided to give them a try and experience the baked and mineralized products. This is a limited edition collection that MAC put out this year and I didn’t want to miss out. I had read reviews from Temptalia and had seen some color swatches, so I knew this wasn’t a must have… however, I still decided to try them (my wallet did complain). One thing I was really excited about were the new limited edition brushes, so I order them all. I was also excited about the blushes, specially Pressed Amber which has a brownish color. The eyeshadows really got my attention since they look absolutely beautiful in the pan. The swirl of different colors remind me of those planet pictures you see in books. Cool, huh?
The 32 piece collection includes 12 Mineralize Eye Shadows, 3 Mineralize Blushes, 4 Lipsticks, 4 Mineralize Skin Finishes, 5 Cremesheen Glasses, Mineralize Satin Finish SPF 15 Foundation, 4 Split Fibre Brushes that combined both Synthetic and Natural Hair, Mineralize Face and Body Lotion and Mineralize Charged Water! This is one HUGE collection!
The first products I got were Smoked Ruby Eyeshadow, Rare Find Eyeshadow, Goldstone Mineralize Skin Finish, Pressed Amber Blush, all the brushes and the Mineralize Charged Water. I would have gotten a lot more eyeshadows but again, even though they look amazing in the pan they lack a lot of color payoff and the pigmentation is terrible. There are just a few that are really pigmented. The blushes are The Best Products in this collection. The colors are beautiful. They’re very pigmented and the the texture is really silky. I initially got the Pressed Amber but then I had to get Warmth of Coral and Feeling Flush. All three colors are unique and beautiful. As a brush junkie and collector, I did get the brushes, and they didn’t disappoint. Below you can see more details and tons of pictures!
MAC Pressed Amber Mineralize Blush
MAC Pressed Amber Mineralize Blush – I could describe the color as a mix between a beige and a rose. It is similar to the Too Faced Peach Leopard. Peach Leopard is more browinsh in color though. I do use Peach Leopard as a blush. I don’t use it as a bronzer. The texture is very soft, smooth powder without frost or glitter. It has a satin-like sheen that looks natural when applied to the skin.
MAC Feeling Flush Mineralize Blush
MAC Feeling Flush Mineralize Blush – The color is a mix between plum and pink. It is really pigmented and I think it will go well with darker skin tones. This one is very soft in texture as well.
MAC Warmth Of Coral Mineralize Blush
MAC Warmth Of Coral Mineralize Blush – The powder is very finely-milled with a silky smooth feel. No glitter, no shimmer but rather a sheen finish. It is a coral, orangy color with a touch of peach. It doesn’t show up that much in my skin.
MAC Semi Precious Goldstone Mineralize Skin Finish
MAC Smoked Ruby Mineralize Eyeshadow
MAC Smoked Ruby Mineralize Eyeshadow – This is a black eyeshadow with a hint of copper sparkle. If you blend this eyeshadow you will end up with just black and it will loose all the coppershish color.
MAC Rare Find Mineralize Eyeshadow
MAC Rare Find Mineralize Eyeshadow – Shine baby shine. I got this eyeshadow because of its purple/greish undertones. it does have the cool purple understone. it is like a mix of brown grey and many sparkles of purple color. It is a really shimmery eyeshadow. If you don’t like shimmer stay away from it.
MAC Gem of Roses Lipstick
MAC Gem of Roses Lipstick – This has a luster finish which sometimes may look a might sheer. However I love the color! My lips look really natural with this lipstick.
